Aroma of banana and apple esters, grain, light skunked hops, alcohol. Flavour is sweet, fruity, grain, alcohol, some bitterness. Lots of carbonation, but still a smooth mouthfeel, medium bodied. Overall this just tastes like an average strong lager, nothing special really, especially considering the ABV. RHeastings (419), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Sep 7, 2009 Enjoyed from a 750ml bottle in a tullip glass. The beer pours a nice straw-colored yellow, with a creamy head that lasts throughout the drinking experience. The nose is initially slightly off-putting, showing a touch of skunkiness, along with a bit of pilsner malt sweetness and some yeasty esters. However, the palate makes up for the less-than-appetising aroma with a reasonably strong note of malt (perhaps from the addition of Munich?), notes of lemon, and a slight twang of citrusy sourness at the end that allows the beer to be pleasantly malty without being cloying. Overall, not quite in a the category of Duvel, but a refreshing and quirky variation of a golden strong. dirkbreedveld (247), Netherlands
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Sep 7, 2009 Nice golden color, no fermentation in the bottle. Clear beer. Nose is malty and hoppy. Good example of the smell of begian hoparoma. Also nice taste of ripe fruits like pear and apple. The hopbitters are very well blending in with the yeasty and malty tones. Long aftertaste. floydian1 (287), FNQ, Australia
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Aug 26, 2009 750ml bottle. An unfiltered straw yellow ale with a healthy cream-white head showing good retention. Aromas of pears, grapes, alcohol, and barnyard. The palate is balanced and complex with subdued caramel malts, pears, citrus, hessian and straw finishing with an alcoholic warmth and an earthy dry hop presence that lingers. Medium to full bodied with a smooth mouthfeel. Nicely drinkable. Excellent stuff. corby112 (759), philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA

Clear, yellow orange body with a medium-lasting foamy white head and weird pockets of floaties on the surface. Yeasty straw flavour. Light-medium body is dry and bitter. Average.

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Aug 13, 2009 Bottle. Pours mildly hazy dark yellow. Nose is dry; citrus, malt, oats, spice. Smells like pretty, mild, Brett-free saison. Palate is sweet & malty, citrus & spice add complexity, yeast is present, but mild and appropriate. Neat stuff. Thanks Barry!
