Commercial Description:
The 3MONTS beer : A wonderful return to nature, with its flavour of yesteryear, this is a beer that was drawn from the wooden metal-circled barrels to fill so many mugs in our Flanders bars! Its bitterness comes from our hop fields scattered throughout the region. Brewed by infusions, it is an old-fashioned rising beer made with strong and hearty Flemish hops. Fermented using top yeasts, like the barrel brewers of yore and clamped like bonderised barrels.

(Bottled, 0.75l) Clear, paleish golden color with a medium, quite lasting, foamy head. Grassy-hoppy aroma, reminiscent of North-German pilseners, but after a moment, there’s also some European Strong Lager’ish, fruity-alcoholic aroma. Lightly malty, dry-grassy-hoppy, quite alcoholic flavor. Light to medium-bodied, dryish palate with pretty fizzy carbonation - much like sparkling wine. An interesting mix of cheap pilsener from Lidl, strong malt liquour, and dry sparkling wine. Definitely not up to the fancy looks of the bottle in sophistication, but nice to try once. It will also get you drunk fast, and was quite cheap at 3.60 euros for 0.75l in Amsterdam...

Pours a crystal clear light gold with a medium white head. Aroma for some reason made me think of my grandpa’s Schaefer (go figure). I really did not like the first taste of this at all. Tasted like hoppy alcohol with no malt sweetness. As I had some more sips th eflavor kind of grew on me and I could detect the malt presence better. The alcohol flavor is still quite pronounced. Not at all my type of beer, but

(Bottle) Yellow colour, with huge, brief white head. Yeast residue in the bottle. Lively. Malty nose with notes of lemon, toast and grassy hops. Malty, fruity taste with citrus, white bread, herbs and spicy, floral hops. Notes of yeast. Malty sweetness lingering through in the finish. Nice and tasty.

Bottle. Weak aroma, nothing standing out. Very gold look with thin head. Flavor is very mild with a slight spice and very slight alcohol burn. Smooth brew. A very dissapoiinting biere de garde.

Aroma is seriously yeasty, honey, peachy and floural hops kicking in to. Taste is similarly yeasty, tastes to me like a strong golden ale, very drinkable.

Lightfruity malt. Apple and pear. Spicy floral hops. Pepper and slight cinnamon. Has some of that belgian alcohol funk and burn. Tasty and refreshing, but not anything impressive.

Nothing too special going on here. Extra point for the packaging, but there isn’t anything here that hasn’t already been said. Slightly above average brew.
