Commercial Description:
The 3MONTS beer : A wonderful return to nature, with its flavour of yesteryear, this is a beer that was drawn from the wooden metal-circled barrels to fill so many mugs in our Flanders bars! Its bitterness comes from our hop fields scattered throughout the region. Brewed by infusions, it is an old-fashioned rising beer made with strong and hearty Flemish hops. Fermented using top yeasts, like the barrel brewers of yore and clamped like bonderised barrels.

bought in Lille:So I though while I was in France i would have to drink some biere de garde. I haven’t found any yet that I really enjoy, I have only tried 3 but there is usually something about a speciality beer that is easily appriciated. aroma is slightly malty, with peppery hops and alcohol. flavor is much the same. blond in color. active palate. okay...

As French beers go and as strong beers go, this is probably the best I have ever drank. I know that might not be saying much, but 3 Mont is a beer I would offer to a friend. Don’t let the pale golden head fool-you, this beer is VERY strong. I don’t notice any flavor in particular when in the mouth, but maybe a hint a lemon. Heavy alcohol aftertaste is over-powering and although, probably the only downfall of this beer, will likely turn off a good number of drinkers. 8.5% alcohol, so drink this one in moderation. Cheers

Wispy aroma of tart bananas, almond paste and lemon rind. Wispy and very sweet smelling. Phenolic in a good way. Bright. Pour of golden hue, with super creamy fine froth, off-white. Flavor is a bold fresh spicy lemon zinger and bright white teas. The estery attitude bowls over the rising alcohol notes in a furious percolating battle for top spot. The gentle pale fruits of pear wine, cinnamon bark, plum sauce and Meyer lemons steep in a sweet syrup. A floral bouquet grabs the sugars and balances with a firm slap. A nice rendition, with great complexity, smooth drinking and lucious character.

Pours mid-golden with faint effervescence and a small, white head that settles as a thin film. Barnyard and butterscotch aroma with the addition of both green and dried leaves. Esters late. Tart flavor with a touch of fruit and high astringence. Dry bitterness to finish. I would not turn this down if offered.

Poured a straw colored yellow with a fizzy, bulky white head from the bomber. Aroma is wheaty smelling, grassy, piney. Mouthfeel is very fizzy, lots of carbonation in this beer. Flavor is light but crisp, grassy, slightly citrus. Hides the alcohol well. Light and refreshing. Not my favorite style of beer but not bad.

75 cl bottle. No yeast at the bottom. Golden clear colour with a huge white head. Alcoholic and sweet malty aroma. Flavour of sweet malt, grain and very alcoholic finish, bit still soft.

Aroma: mild sweet banana and grain. Appearance: golden with a tiny bit of haziness, fluffy white head and sudsy lacing. Flavour: sweet spiritous, malty soem banana and grainy. Finishes with a hint of soy sauce. Palate: medium mouthfeel, gently carbonated and finishes lightly sweet.
