Commercial Description:
The 3MONTS beer : A wonderful return to nature, with its flavour of yesteryear, this is a beer that was drawn from the wooden metal-circled barrels to fill so many mugs in our Flanders bars! Its bitterness comes from our hop fields scattered throughout the region. Brewed by infusions, it is an old-fashioned rising beer made with strong and hearty Flemish hops. Fermented using top yeasts, like the barrel brewers of yore and clamped like bonderised barrels.

Pours a pale yellow with yeasty bready flavors. Not much hops evident but a smooth full mouth feel. Good long lasting head the coats the glass. Almost a lager after taste than an ale. I was very impressed with the amount of smoothness in a beer with this much flavor.

Bottled 75cl from crackedkettle.com. It pours a clear yellow beer with a average sized nicely lasting head. The aroma is yeasty with melon, cork, crackers, blue cheese and mint showing up. Grainy flavor. Medium bodied. Subtle carbonation. Yeast accentuated. Hints of cork, melon, mint, crackers, blue cheese and lemon accompanied by quite a lot of tarragon. Decent bitterness. There is a rather disturbing metallic component which keeps me from enjoying this beer. Beautiful lacework. Dry finish which is reminiscent of melon, cork and earthy hops. Dissapointing.

Pours into a chalice with a huge pillow of snowy head, and a smoky golden colour like there’s a tornado going on down there. Scent is of citrus and bitter hops and a tiny bit of alcohol. Taste is caramel with some grains, slight hint of grassiness, some malts. Very smooth. Aftertaste is sweet and slightly caramel as well.

Well carbonated orange pour with a nice white head. Aroma of biscuity malt, saltine crackers, a bit of grassy hops. Yeasty, slightly sour, grassy, biscuity flavor. It’s very complex and special. My girlfriend picked this beer up at some random liquor store, and there’s no telling how old it is, but it’s truly stunning.

Pours a clear and fizzy pale yellow with a fantastic white head, sticks around for quite some time. The aroma is very grassy, I get a touch of lemony-citrus but little else. The flavour is not quite as disappoint6ing, but almost. The beer is quite grassy and grainy - similar to the Asian lagers. There is a strong grassy flavour, with a touch of vnilla and caramel, but there is not enough on the malt flavour to truly challenge the grassy hops which leaves an incredibly disappointing flavour on the palate. This could have been a fantastic beer but just did not have enough to challenge the grassy profile. Had promise, but did not pull through in the end - a glorified Steinlager.

750mL bottle from Regionals. Pours golden with a fizzy white head. Very effervescent.
Aroma is of grassy hops, quite earthy – reminds me of NZ hops. Slight grain, and a bit sweet.
Flavour is somewhat sweet also, citric hops (lemony) add bitterness and a hint of grass which just balances the sweetness to a point where the beer seems very neutral. The finish is quite warm, and probably where the alcohol features the most – providing a slight astringency to coax me back for another sip.
What a balanced beer! The only hint of the 8.5% ABV comes in the finish, and even then it only serves to improve the taste. Bonus points for uber drinkability.

A golden, straw-colored biere de garde with minimal opacity and a foamy white head. Smells of apples, yeast and pleasant undertones from the barnyard. Taste is sweet straw, low acid fruits, understated spices and a slightly astringent finish. Mouthfeel is pleasantly smooth and effervescent. Good overall but too understated to be great.

bottle shared with friends light Golden color with modest head. A little of the fruity Belgian alcohol but nice hoppy notes. Finishes a little sweet
