Commercial Description:
The 3MONTS beer : A wonderful return to nature, with its flavour of yesteryear, this is a beer that was drawn from the wooden metal-circled barrels to fill so many mugs in our Flanders bars! Its bitterness comes from our hop fields scattered throughout the region. Brewed by infusions, it is an old-fashioned rising beer made with strong and hearty Flemish hops. Fermented using top yeasts, like the barrel brewers of yore and clamped like bonderised barrels.

Aroma is sweet malt and yeast, light yellow, pours a big fluffy white head. Flavour is yeasty, with some good maltiness. Light bodied, sweet, and dry. Fine.

bottle. thanks doug for sharing. translucent light golden with a small sudsy head. sweet aroma - biscuit, low hop profile, yeast, and mild fruit. flavour is malty and light fruit - some cereal and caramel. somewhat boring, I think. sweet and abrasive at times. yeast finish along with alcohol.

This bottle has been cellared for a year and a half. First off, there seems to be virtually no differnece between the cellared and fresh bottles I had. This review is with respect to the cellared bottle. Aroma is spicy and yeasty with a bit of bread. Poured a decent frothy head with good lacing. The head soon vanished leaving a bright yellow, clear body. Initial flavor was sweet and acidic that become moderately acidic. The body was light to medium with soft carbonation. Biere de garde’s aren’t my favorite style even though I love saison’s. Go figure. I think I don’t care for the aftertaste. However, as this style goes, this is good representative.

750-ml. pain-in-the-ass bottle to open. Since it doesn’t come with directions, here’s the remedy: grab a pair of pliers and pull at the hinges of the silver bar where it’s touching the bottleneck. Now let’s get on to business...

Totally clear neon yellow in color with a sudsy, whitish-yellow head with lovely lace at every angle. Brisk and curt aroma of cleansing lemons, candi sugar, cloves, shortbread, angel food cake, coriander and starch. Farmhouse flavor takes on an anticipated form of hearty sourdough crust with buttery lemon cream. Musky resonance with butte, cologne, husks and pils malt. Some cleansing lemon scented dish detergent fulfills a whimsical dimension. Yeasty, staunch and a talc-like cohesion to the palate. Pils malt drives the balance along with active effervescence. Finishes like herbal baguettes. Quite frankly, a by the book biere de garde.

750 ml corked bottle. Thank Turg. Pale golden, slightly hazy beer with a thick fluffy white head. Very persistent head. Aroma is spicy, yeasty, light corander, Saaz hops, some lemoy citrus and light yeasty funk, but not a whole lot. Flavour is of strong yeasty spiciness, some light perfume/cologne-like flavours that intensify as it warms up. Light bitterness, very dry, refreshing finish. Well-balanced. Some dustiness in the mouth as well. Very nice, refreshing beer. Alcohol is well-hidden.

Bottled:
Fluffy head, golden color. Flavor is malty, light sweet and balanced by some acid. Hops in the end and a dry bitter aftertaste. Quite straight strong blond. All in all not very complex with a to alcoholic character.
