Commercial Description:
The 3MONTS beer : A wonderful return to nature, with its flavour of yesteryear, this is a beer that was drawn from the wooden metal-circled barrels to fill so many mugs in our Flanders bars! Its bitterness comes from our hop fields scattered throughout the region. Brewed by infusions, it is an old-fashioned rising beer made with strong and hearty Flemish hops. Fermented using top yeasts, like the barrel brewers of yore and clamped like bonderised barrels.

Corps d’épaisseur semi mince, carbonatation piquante. Vraiment à boire température pièce. Bouteille, Dép. Rahman, août 2005.

Pours a clear golden color with numerous tiny bubbles forcefully spiraling upward, the head is white, thick and fluffy, the head diminishes slowly and leaves nice lacing on the glass. Subtle and inviting aroma of fruits and spices. The flavor is composed of fruits, spices and yeast, the intensity is moderate, it feels slightly subtle and it goes well with the mellow texture, comfy like a good old chair. As with the rest of this beer the carbonation is moderate, just enough to transport the different elements. This beer is very relaxing, subtle, smooth, the kind of beer I would enjoy on a quiet sunday morning, delicate harmony.

Bottle. Sour, funky, DMS-like aromas in the nose of this. Some acidic fruit-like notes and maybe a bit of bananas. Transparent yellow color with a white head a la BMC. Start is kind of must, and funky. Like an old swampy cellar. In the middle, there are sweet malty notes with a nice body turning very very woody to finish with some bitterness as well. A different beer.

(Bottle 75 cl) Lovely golden beer with a decent head. Starts clear and hazes the closer you reach the huge sediment at the bottom. Very full-bodied and quite potent without being alcoholic as such. Has the typical earthy, musty artinal touch often found in Bière de Gardes. 090602

(750ml bottle) Pours a cloudy yellow body with a large white head. Aroma of florals, mustiness, and butter. Creamy mouthfeel. Flavor of spicy yeast, butter, apple, and chardonnay grapes.

Lemon body with a foamy white head. Mild citrus and honey nose with light floral notes and a touch of cork/oxidation. Musty, sweet honey flavor with some spicy hops and a bit of hot alcohol. Slightly syrupy mouthfeel. Not bad, but the musty, oxidized character seems contrived and doesn’t thrill me.
