Grassy aroma. Watery body, but a good taste of grasses and wheat. Not nearly as bitter as some Biere de Gardes. dberger624 (1028), Phila, Pennsylvania, USA

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Nov 21, 2004 Clear golden body with a large frothy white head. Sweet, yeasty aroma with hints of lemon and spice. Taste is lovely, from the malty sweet start, then the pleasant alcohol, on to the robust dry finish. I get light grains, lemon, oilly texture, thin to medium body with a fairly long finish. The only thing that I wasn’t wrapped in was the cork but it was worth the wait. Cheers! leaparsons (4748), Leicester, Leicestershire, England
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Oct 27, 2004 Clear and golden. Aromas are lemon, grain and spices -- pretty mellow. Flavours are lemon sherbert with extra sugar. A touch of whisky and grain follows. The alcohol isn’t especially warming for its abv. Still, after 75cl it grows on you! Soft malty, lightly spiced aroma, mild fruit. Fruity, winey flavor, mild apricot. Astringent dryness towards the end, fair woody spice. Hbie (133), Essex, England
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Oct 18, 2004 Bottle in France. Found this in the supermarket when on holiday, a pleasant surprise. Golden yellow with white head. Unusual cork. Crystal clear. Very gassy on pouring. A well crafted beer with lots of subtle flavours, would probably benefit from conditioning for a few years in a cool cellar. Too highly carbonated for my taste.
