75cl bottle 12/12 written on cork?? Bronzen copper color, super bubbly, incredible resilient head that rose above the rim of the glass and held, like whipped cream. Malty sweet aroma, slight farmhouse funk hiding behind the spicy hop perfume. Not massively aromatice, but it is there and I’m a bit stuffed up right now. Wildflower honey drenched malts meet some sassy hops in the grass near an old hay barn for a picinic beer and walnuts. The malt is nice, not carmelly or grainy, just malty. Not sweet or dry, it finishes with some bitterness, but the emphasis is mostly on the malt and farmhouse meeting. They melt together like butter on warm mashed potatoes. Awesome. Lace coated glass remains. Did seem to thin a bit as I finished it, but not much to complain about here. Wish I had done a side by side with the La Bavaisienne, because I’m rating this one higher, although I think I like the Bavaisienne better! Thanks hey_kevin! Very nice indeed.

The head on top of this crystal-clear yellow brew does not last long, nor is it very thick. But the taste is fantastic, and the aroma reminds of nuts. The drinking experience is far milder than a usual beer, in fact it’s sweet in its own way, and the natural bitterness of a beer is almost gone. It feels quite fizzy in a good way, and is an altogether highly enjoyable experience. It was once recommended to me by a bar in Antwerp, and when I said it was French, they proudly replied "no Sir, it’s Flemish, just on the French side of the border!".

Sampled at Le Sois Bock in Paris, France. Light Golden. Mildly aromatic, quite herbal and flowery with notes of lemon, grass and clove. An odd, enjoyable yeastiness as well. Mysterious at first but as it warmed it became very complex. Light grain providing a caramel sweetness throughout but for this one, the hops dominate. Dry, herbal and very fruity with notes of lemon especially but also pears and honey.

tiny carbonation in the hazy, soft golden amber body. loose, off white head. nose is dominated by alcohol. plenty of esters& phenols. A tart, potent citrus note. Sweet pale malts, and a great warmth. Yeasty, spicy finish. nothing too special here

Piss yellow w/thick white head. Pilsner like nose w/faint sweet malt. Medium mouthfeel w/dry finish. Hops, malt, light citrus, skunky?, bready and the alcohol makes it’s presence known on the finish.

Gotta say,looked like I scooped this from the toilet.Piss colored with a monster head.Light nose of spices,aromatic spices.Floral notes also.Flavor is more complex.I let this warm a little and wasn’t dissappointed.The spice/floral malt combo was very pleasant.Just a little light for my tastes

Bottle (2003 – drank in 2004): Poured a golden colour ale with a huge white bubbly head with great retention. Aroma is quite particular with a mix of spices and strong sweet floral malt. Taste is quite reminiscent of a Belgian ale (might be the spice and the sweet malt) without all the yeast. Overall, this is probably one of the top 5 beer from France but not as great as the Bière Nouvelle from the same brewery.

Big bottle. Clear, golden ale with good carbonation (just like the picture to the left). A super-heineken: spicier, richer, hoppier, tastier: some grassy notes, a hint of fennel? Probably a great ale on a hot summer afternoon.
