| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Mar 25, 2004 Updated: May 23, 2004golden, clear, fuffy, but lasting head. great floral/citrus hoppy aroma (hersbrucker?) with a bit of a fruity yeast and spicy alcohol. taste is a little grainy sweet, with a good hop flavour, a bit spicy and citrusy, the yeastyness seems to become a little astringent(maybe an old beer?) overall pretty good
Second tasting: Grain was a little nutty, slightly vanilla and flowery hops. sweet buiscuity malt. ross (1709), weddington, South Carolina, USA

| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Mar 9, 2004 (750 ml corked bottle). Pale golden pilsener-like colour, . Large lasting head. Spicy aroma. Flavour is spicy white wine-like, a bit alcoholic. Well balanced, nice aftertaste. A good beer, but I don't find it quite as complex as some other raters do. slang (406), Columbia, South Carolina, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Mar 3, 2004 "Perfect" head over seemingly average, pale, gold ale. Held to light the continually rising bubbles and clean simplicity of this beer shine through. Nose is of yeast and hops, with very little alcohol. Taste follows suit. But the palate is very complex with cereal and other similarities I can't put a finger on. I want to rerate a "kept" bottle. The alcohol is *very* well hidden, which make big gulps great. (Slight alcohol tingle on tounge, but 8.5%?). Clean and easy, good stuff. Dixen (1465), Flagstaff, Arizona, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Feb 19, 2004 Some spicyness in the nose and some hops. Very clear golden color, small white head. Some sweetness, and a bitter finish. Brings some warmth in the mouth. Very drinkable. mullet (801), Melbourne, Australia
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Feb 6, 2004 Great appearance, clear as beer gets, light gold colour, great head retention.
Aroma was surprisingly clean (perhaps from long-term storage in the fridge at the bottle shop from which I bought it). Slight phenolics and spicy hop but none of the fruity or musty things I was expecting at all.
Amazing decocted malt flavour. Just beautifully clean, sweet malt. Reminded me a lot of a Bavarian Helles fermented with an ale yeast. Quite lean body, not sweet and a nice drying bitter finish. Very drinkable. No perceptible alcohol, drank like a 5% beer. Really grows on you as you get through the bottle. Completely not what I was expecting but really good nonetheless.
