Commercial Description:
The 3MONTS beer : A wonderful return to nature, with its flavour of yesteryear, this is a beer that was drawn from the wooden metal-circled barrels to fill so many mugs in our Flanders bars! Its bitterness comes from our hop fields scattered throughout the region. Brewed by infusions, it is an old-fashioned rising beer made with strong and hearty Flemish hops. Fermented using top yeasts, like the barrel brewers of yore and clamped like bonderised barrels.

750ml Bottle: Lightly sweet aroma. Smells of grass, hops, lemon, herbs, vegetables, and yeast. Poured golden in color with a medium-sized, white head that lasted throughout. Clear. Sparkling. Good lacing. Lightly sweet flavor. Tastes of caramel, hops, yeast, salt, grains, corn, and a tiny hint of vanilla. Light to medium body. Chalky texture. Average carbonation. Sweetish, grassy, hoppy finish.

Clear golden yellow, chunky heavy white head. Aromas chiefly of grain and hay, a little musty (I guess this is where one would apply the decription "barnyard"?). The musty yeastiness is apparent on the palate too, despite the clarity of the beer. Mostly sweetish malt, but some faint green-grape fruitiness too, and a little spice. Subtle and interesting.

750 ml corked bottle...Pours golden w/ a fluffy white head...mostly lasting and leaves some soapy lacing behind on my glass. The aroma was packed full of florals, and citrus (lemon). The flavor was earth, funk, fresh grassy hops, and hay. Great medium mouthfeel, with the perfect amount of carbonation. The finish was quite bitter, dry and puckering. The 8.5% was well concealed! Excellent beer!

Appearance: Gold, dark yellow. Champagne-like bubbles. Lots of head, not lasting long. Aroma: Very fruity, winey. Taste: Very vinous, bitter, fresh. "Champagne beer" Info: 750ml bottle, 5/2-2006, 68/300, 43/500

At first inspection, the bent staple retained cork created fear and confusion for me. Luckily the apparatus yielded to my forceful thumbs before I went looking for a screwdriver. Appearance is clear gold with a big white head. Aroma is dry and appley with just a hint of sour, but not much more. Taste is odd grapey, dry (mouth-drying, really) and carbonated to the point of being inseparable from its mouthfeel. Not sure what’s going on in this brew, but it’s kinda cool. Nice biscuity finish with slight warming alcohol. $6/25oz
