Bottle, 75 cl. Colour is a hazy golden hue. Very nice rocky head. Aroma is very yeasty, much more so than would be expected from the still relatively clear appearance. Fruity and somewhat sugery/cidery flavor. Yeast is a bit too apparent in the aftertaste. (I know it says "Bière Nouvelle sur lie" on the label.) A Bière Nouvelle as a Bière de Garde is a contradiction in terms...

Bottled. Clear amber colour, with huge head. Dusty, fruity aroma with minerals and herbs. Good old Biere de Garde aroma if you ask me. Pretty lively, chewy mouthfeel, with good malt character, on the edge of being almondy but not quite. Fruity, balanced and very well balanced. A not very tasty beer, but gains from subtle finesse and is a winner of the style.

[123-20061209] 750mL. Baby powder aroma with beery wheat. Golden yellow body with lots of bubbles throughout and a very large bubbly off-white head. Initially sweet complexity with gravelly hints of licorice. Light-medium body. Nice finish but... veggie burpies.
