radiomgb (1776), Peterborough, Ontario, Canada Jul 26, 2006 Draught at Punavuoren Ahven in Helsinki, Finland. Dark brown in colour, decent sized beige coloured head, good retention, nice lace. The aroma was of light caramel malts, cookies and rye bread. The flavour was quite bready, some yeast, light citrus, caramel, light roast. Bitter mouthfeel, medium/light body, high carbonation. Finishes with a moderate bitterness, refreshing. Not your everyday Brown Ale for sure, pretty tasty. oh6gdx (6331), Vaasa, Finland Apr 15, 2006 Draught. Dark amber/ruby colour, mediumsized beige head. Aroma of malts, cooked vegetables and fruit. Flavour the same with caramellish hints added. Wellbalanced. This beer was selected as the best Finnish micro brew beer of 2006 in Helsinki Beer Festival.
Dark copper brown, decent creamy brownish head, some lace. A ryeish like, mildly hoppy nose. A bit roasted, hoppy. Barley and hops in the aftertaste, slightly smoked feeling there. sayravai (3181), Helsinki, Finland Apr 9, 2006 (Draught@HBF2006, too cold) Darkish red-amber cor with a small head. Pleasant, flowery-hoppy, berryish-malty and lightly vinous aroma. Lightly roasty and ashy-smoky flavor with moderate maltiness and smooth, flowery hops in the finish. Light to medium-bodied, slightly foamy-carbonated palate. A very decent dark ale, but not one of my favorites. Jukkabro (2394), Tampere, Finland Jan 24, 2006 Dark coppery color, little vanishing beige head. Sweetness, caramel, fruts in aroma, mild bubble gum and licorice too. Medium bodied. Caramel and some berries in flavor, ends with nicely dry aftertaste. Nice refreshing dark ale.
