Commercial Description:
Made with six different malts - five of them organic, and house ground almond flour, this English brown ale has a roasted, nutty flavor. A neutral Nottingham yeast, low levels of English hops, and Edinburgh-style water allow the beer's malty characteristics to shine.

At Oregon Brewers Festival 2008 Pours out a brown topped with a san head. Aroma of nuts and malt. Tast more of the nuts (almonds) and a nice malt.

OBF 2008. I just didn’t pick up much almond flavor from this, it had a soft nuttiness, but the almond character just didn’t seem to come forward. I once had a DeKonink beer that was brewed with almond extract, and immediately upon trying it almond cookie came to mind. This I was searching but didn’t find much. Sort of woody earthy flavors and soft caramel notes, but nothing unique, just a brown ale.

On tap at the Oregon Brewers Festival 2008--Brown body with a thin whine-tan head. Creamy, nutty, off nose. Chewy almond notes linger. There is something off in this beer. Creamy, vanilla. Ok.
