On tap at the brewery. This version was aged in barrels for a year. Dark amber/copper color with a smooth off-white head. Sweet fruity nose, soft buttery bourbon flavor to it. Hints of smoke and caramel. I wish this had a touch more attenuation, felt a bit cloying in the finish, but the alcohol was hidden well and it was very smooth.

Reddish orange with a thin beige head. Aroma is pretty hefty on the citrus followed by a big sweetness that creates a lemon/orange candy kind of thing. Some alcohol is there as well. Alcohol up front followed some citrus and dark fruity mix. Caramel malts. Nice hoppy presence. Lots of booze. Notes say: good!

On Tap at Pub: Sweet, musty maltiness, some dark fruit flavors and a hint of peaty smokiness;spicey hopping and a note of fusals; a bit like a Scottish redition of a barley wine.

Slightly hazy chestnut colour. SLightly syrupy, brandyish, vaguely nutty, orangey aroma but nothing overly distinctive. Rich, malty, earthy, sticky character with a resiny, slightly alcoholic finish. Bit of plum in there too. OK if young example.

This pours a rich shade of auburn, and has that aroma that I have come to know in alot of NW style barleywines. Sweet, hoppy and full of candi sugar, this has solid malt structure, toasty nuts, citric hops and some herbal fruitiness. It is very, very young and green though

Dark, cloudy brown with strings of lace and a tannish head. Roast and caramel malt aromas. Some bitter and some citrus hops. Flavors are bitter and fruity, but roasty and nutty as well. Earthy with alcohol. Bitter tailed and a medium body.

Sampled draught at Standing Stone Brewery, Ashland
Bourbon dark brown, tan edges. Nose of sweet savory malts & funky yeast, high alcohol & near cloying. The flavor is hot but balanced and creamy, not bad but needs more aging.

Opaque, dark mahogney color with a tight mid sized head, almost looks like a stout. Lighlty sweet malts and some dark fruits in the aroma. Moderately sweet, malty flavor. Some rasin and light roasted barley. Fairly, hoppy bitter finish.
