On tap at the brewery. Soft gold in color, lightly hazy, with a small soft white head. This was actually a pretty nice hefe, had a good amount of estery spiciness to keep it refreshing. A bit more mild then some of the banana ridden German hefes, focusing more on softer clove notes, but well built and refreshing. Smooth body, wheat comes through nicely with a light lemon/citrus character coming through.

Aug 15, 2004: On draft at brewery. Unfiltered appearance with golden color. Odors of hops and citrus. Easy to drink, with no bad tastes or aftertastes. A nice offering, and goes well with the excellent food they serve at the brewery. Update: Two and a half years later they seemed to have improved this some. Very smooth mouthefeel for a hefe.

Sweet in the nose, light hop, maybe unfinished, light body w/o effervesence, little cloud and texture, still tasty but not the perfect example of a Hef. The Standing Stone Brewery serves great food.
