Commercial Description:
Dark mahogany in color. Lost Claus Barley Wine is a heavily malted ale with concentrated caramel flavors produced by boiling the wort for 3-1/2 hours in the kettle. To balance the sweetness, four different types of hops were used. Moderation is key with this beer, or you may become "Lost Claus."

Holiday Ale Fest... Poured a dull brown with a thin beige head. Sweet barley-malt aroma. Very thick & syrupy with a nice contrasting tingle on the tongue. Hardly any alcohol presence in the flavor. Really sweet and the hops are great for balancing the barley, sweet caramelized malt, oak and candy flavors.
