Commercial Description:
A dark lager with an exceptionally fine taste which is talked about with recognition and admiration. Staropramen Dark is exceptional for its calming, full-bodied, sweetish caramel taste with gentle, hopsy bitterness. It is a taste you will never forget.

Bottle. Thin light tan head over a shiny brownish/amber body. Not very aromatic, but pleasant scents of mild coffee, dry dark malts and dried fruits. Clean, slight roasted dry taste. Delicate, lightly hopped aftertaste. A bit watery and skinny body. Short dryish end. Overall, a nice dark lager...

A dark lager, quite full-bodied but the taste is to weak and simple. I like my lagers clean, but this one is close to boring. Otherwise it’s flawless...

I’m doing a few retrospective ratings from my travels. Drunk this in Prague - I’d never had a ’dark’ larger-type beer before (this was about 4 years ago). Looked good in the glass - a transucent brown. It had a nice xmas-pudding edge to it - spices and malt. Bit watery, flavours died in the mouth quickly. I enjoyed drinking it, stuck with it (and other darks I can’t name now) the whole week I was there.

Bottle. Very dark red-brown colour with a small light brown head that dissapears fast. Roasted and little fruity aroma. Flavour is a bit roasted with a little chocolate touch, good bitterness in the end.

Tap at " Carlsens Skvatter", Odense: Dark brown, nearly black with white head. Sweet malty aroma. Roasted malts , caramel. Watery body. Easy short bitter finish. OK pleasant!
