| 2.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Apr 19, 2004 A deep amber brew with an aroma of sweet caramel. Some liquorice in the flavour, but mainly sweet caramel which drowns out most other flavours. A bit heavy handed on the caramel but not too bad a beer - nowhere near as bad as the standard pale ones anyway. | 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Mar 22, 2004 Bottle - bought from Hotel Berlin, Smichov, Prague. Darkish black, like a Porter or a fizzy Mild. No head or lacing, cola aroma, with some sugar. Porter like flavour - sweet roasted oats over malty lagerish base. Thin, sweet, but balanced and tasty. Richness in the medium aftertaste - medicinal, choc, nuts. This is a very good Czech product, which is possibly Staropramen's best product. I felt it was fitting to try this and Staropramen's Granat in my hotel, as it was plum next door to the aforementioned brewer's large, fully functional base! SlimJimDrinker (115), Nørrebronx, Denmark

Dark-brown and red colour. Small quicky vanishing slightly tanned head. Lots of CO2 makes this Coke look-a-like. Sweet dark chocolate aroma, not very strong. Delicious coffee-chocolate and smoked flavour, ending too quickly. (8/3/8/3/13 3.5)
Draught
