Oct 23, 2005 Great beer but not a knockout. Ultimately not as memorable as the Velkopopvicky Kozel Cerny beer, which is still the best Czech dark beer. Kozel Cerny (dark) did just win the gold medal at the Belgian world beer competition in 2005. Staropramen is great but not as great as Kozel. Compare them and you will understand.

Jan 20, 2006 What a dunkel by the Staropramen Breweries!!! So tasteful, that you can drink at any time. This is really a great experience. Typical standard for Czech brewers, the best in the world.

Apr 11, 2003 What a surprice! Great beer, with a real great og fine aroma and taste of something burnt, coffee. Hints of chocolate, but the coffee is real present. A-buy-again-beer!

Jan 22, 2006 I love this beer!! Had it in a bar in Tel Aviv, Israel. Very dark with medium head and a sweet AND slightly bitter aftertaste. My favorite dark lager.
