Commercial Description:
Braník is a typical Czech beer with a very refreshing taste, a natural "bite" and pure hopsy aroma. Braník Brewery was founded by a group of brewmasters from small historical breweries in 1899 under the name "Corporate Brewery of Prague Brewmasters".

canned. pretty cheap stuff for people who want to save a couple of crowns rather than drink good beer. golde, quick head, metallic aroma, thin texture, hints of raw alcohol, moderately bitter finish

scores extra marks for appearance because it usually comes in a chipped stein. if this on tap you know a pub will be cheap and atmospheric

Bottle from Systembolaget. A very average Czech pilsner. The only thing that seperates it from the crowd is a pleasing trace of honeydew melon. Other than that it’s pale, has a white head and tastes of faintly sweet malt, understated hops and has a reasonably soft mouthfeel.

Bottled, 500ml, pasteurised. Pale straw with white head. Seemingly well into Eurofizz league here, sweet malt, quite grainy and overall very bland. Mid carbonisation giving a wet paper like taste, low hop impact. Uninspiring.

On tap at Branicky Sklipek, Nove Mesto, Prague, Pasteurised, 500ml. Pale straw with white head. Braving the miserable Barman again we stepped down to the 10" Svelte and really noticed the difference. This is a watered down version, little aroma and really not much flavour apart from a little lemon. Cheap but not very cheerful.

500 ml bottle (5.0% alcohol, bought in Sweden). Golden coloured and with a tall white creamy head that clings to the glass. Crisp hoppy and fruity aroma. Some citrus and grass. Mellow flavours with a slightly sweet malt flavour. Little carbonation and a smooth mouthfeel. Little bitterness, disappointly little in fact, and the beer finishes very soft and a bit flat. Aroma is nice, and the flavour ok, but the finish is just boring.

Pale lager without colour, aroma, or taste. A bit of head. Thanks to Jan Biegamann for bringing. Light mouthfeel, a bit of grassy hops appear at the finish. Malted down, though not too sweet,

500ml bottle. Clear pale golden coloured with a lasting white head. Smokey aroma. Medium palate. Hints of malty sweetness all the way through. A bit buttery (Session at Järnvägshotellet, Kiruna 13.07.2006).
