Commercial Description:
Braník is a typical Czech beer with a very refreshing taste, a natural "bite" and pure hopsy aroma. Braník Brewery was founded by a group of brewmasters from small historical breweries in 1899 under the name "Corporate Brewery of Prague Brewmasters".

(Canned) Golden color with a smallish, bubbly head. Very mild aroma with some buttery hops, hints of honey and sweetish malt. Sweetish-corny-buttery-malty flavor with mild acidity. Some slightly harsh hops in the finish. Light-bodied, somewhat watery and fizzy-carbonated palate. A typical, quite boring and watery bulk lager - with some hops, though.

Smooth, drinkable, flavorful at a great price! The perfect beer taste! It has a bad reputation in the Czech Republic since it is popular with the homeless but it is really excellent. A hidden gem. The company is trying to improve the beer’s image. About two years ago they changed the logo and graphics to make it look classier. It is now made by Staropramen at the Smichov brewery as they closed down the Branik brewery this year.

Just another boring Czech pilsener. Someone else wrote "industrial hops" and I really think that puts the finger on this beer... that and metallic. And soapy.

Like a SPanish cheapr lager, it was too watery and with a cat’s poo after taste alike, like sandy if you understand me.

NIce lager. I tried and I was fine after the whole pint, not a stong flavor, but not incipit as many of the lager beers. I like its bubbling and the foam was really quallity.

Can. Pale gold with big white head. Average strong blend of sweet malts and hops. Aroma very typical. Light grainy finish. Body felt a bit on thinner side but strong grainy character was kept. Some fruity feel as well. Gentle hoppy end.

Draught at Branicky Sklipek in Prague.
Served in a small 30 cl or a big 50 cl glass (by chice).
Light yellow color, small white head. Not much scent, but might be due to the extremely smokey environment. Big body, clear diacetyl/butterscotch flavor. Medium bitterness. Very refreshing, but not a lot of taste other than the butterscotch.

Bottle from the Swedish government owned "Systembolaget". February 18, 2006.
The version I tried, sold in Sweden, has 5.0% ABV.
Light golden color, lasting white head. Malty scent and taste. Low bitterness.

Rerate as "Branik Svetle 10 degree"
(Draught in Prague on June 24, 2008)
Clear golden color, fluffy creamy white head. Fruity malty crisp sweet scent. Sweet malty and a tad butterscotch taste. Very crisp, nice and refreshing. Medium mouthfeel, low bitterness. Though nice afterbitterness. Some apples.

Bottle. Good lager. Pours amber with small white head. Hoppy aroma and taste. Some bitterness in the aftertaste. That’s nice.

Bottled German version. Clear golden color, disintegrating head reduces to nothing. Doesn’t smell like something I’d want to drink. Industirally malty aroma, medium carbonation, a tad tinny, cereal used? Soft mouthfeel, low bitterness, czech hops. Off-kilter balance, to be avoided.
