Commercial Description:
Staropramen Garnet is a unique lager that fully honours the tradition of our brewery. In the brewing process, which is based on the original recipe from 1884, we mix pale and specialty malts in the so-called "sprinkling" process. This gives the lager its typical garnet colour, gently bitter taste and full-bodied hopsy aroma

33cl bottle brought back from Prague. Amber colour with thin white head. Some toasted malt, bit of toffee aroma. Very clean and crisp in mouth. Hoppy bite on the end. Some good flavours of toffee and hop, but doesn’t really offer much else.

Bottled. Rich amber pour with an excellent beige head and medium carbonation. Sweet aroma, some spicy malt. Thick and crisp, spicy, malty, tart, finishes mildly bitter. A little fruity sweetness, dry finish though. Very good.

Medium white creamy head; clear yellow body. Light yeasty aroma. Light, clean taste of nothing with a faint aftertaste of watery caramel. Boring. (On tap.)

On tap - Southwark Tavern Borough London. An amber coloured beer with a little lace and head. The aroma is sweet, malty and toasty. The malts also come through in the taste which is toasty and includes caramel notes. OK but this style is not really for me.
