Commercial Description:
Staropramen Garnet is a unique lager that fully honours the tradition of our brewery. In the brewing process, which is based on the original recipe from 1884, we mix pale and specialty malts in the so-called "sprinkling" process. This gives the lager its typical garnet colour, gently bitter taste and full-bodied hopsy aroma

Golden, small head. Perfume aroma with nuts and sweet fruits. Flavor brings perfume, floral notes, nuts, and with a bitter finish. Quite a nice beer...

Dark amber colour, thin white head. Toffee nose with hoppy/citric notes. Slight buttery, malty flavour with low bitterness. Light bodied.

Bitter ale-like vienna, but without any head whatsoever. Not very appealing - I’d rather have a Kilkenny.

Draught: Dark golden beer with a fluffy head that disappears with some nice lacing. Weak malt and fruit aroma. Some malt sweetness immediately, but heavily hopped bitter flavour making it very refreshing.

Reddish beer, full of surprising flavors; some sweetness, but not disturbing, good carbonation and a refreshing aroma with tones of a diet christmas beer (is there such a thing?).

Bottle. The colour is pale amber; the off-white head is finger thick.

The smell is somewhat sourish and a bit burned with notes of dark rye bread, coffee with cream, and some fruity hops.

The carbonation is the usual for a dark lager.

A fruity malty note dominates the taste. Then, a growing bitterness emerges with notes of watermelon and some roasted notes. The aftertaste got metallic bitter notes and some boiled vegetables.

Overall, a Czech pils with some roasted notes. Not very exciting.

Amber/golden. Off white lasting head. Hoppy/fruity aroma. Mild flavour with malty sweetness. Discrete perfumy hops (saazer?). Smooth palate. Nice easy drinking beer.
