Commercial Description:
Staropramen Garnet is a unique lager that fully honours the tradition of our brewery. In the brewing process, which is based on the original recipe from 1884, we mix pale and specialty malts in the so-called "sprinkling" process. This gives the lager its typical garnet colour, gently bitter taste and full-bodied hopsy aroma

50cl Bottle. Copper lager with offwhite head. Slight biscuity malts on the body, hints of plum esters on a moderately bitter finish. Not bad!

Fizzy head, amber coloured, watery textured brew, which has glad caramelic aroma. This is a bit raw for me: as i taste it rasps my tounge and my palate. Then the flavour is sweet firstly then it turns to bitter as you swallow it. Lightly disturbing cardboard feel in the finish.

(Draught at Hard Rock Café, Stockholm, 31 Oct 2009) Brownish amber colour with a frothy, off-white head. Malty nose with notes of dark bread, wort, dried fruit and toffee. Malty taste with notes of dried fruit, bread, caramel and a slightly spicy bitterness in the finish. Medium body, balanced sweetness. Tasty and decent beer, but hardly exciting.
