(Draught at Na Verandach, Prague, 21 July 2008) Brownish black colour with creamy, pale brown head. Roasted, malty nose with notes of coffee and dark chocolate. Roasted, malty taste with dark chocolate, coffee, roasted grain and a dry finish. Dry and smooth, moderate bitterness. Typical Irish stout, seems odd to go to Prague and drink this. Decent enough though.

Bottle brown, 500 ml
Appearance: Pours deep, very intensive dark brown, malted chockolate like colour of the body very deep brownish - red. head is formed slowly and in a typical way of nitrogen effervescence. Head is very deep and intensive, almost wholly lasting with a very good lacing throughout the whole body. head is creamy, cappuccino like in coloarley grinur, light does not get though the beer, better deepness than Zywiec Porter compearly to Youngs&Wells Double Chockolate Stout.
Aroma: Noble coffee, burned, roasted so much, that even cremated barley grains, very grainy, dark chockolate, bitter but low hoppyness. Aroma is very gentle and hidden under the pillowy head, aroma is good but weak and simple in a way of not being more complex due to lack of fruity accents.
Flavour: Coffee, very, very dry, typical dry stout, soft in terms of carbonation, but as compared to Irish Dry Stuts like Murphy less smooth and lacking in fruity accents. Very focused on its roastyness&dry texture, burned coffee and grains. Nice accent of bitter hops on palate, a bit sour.
Palate: Body is medium, texture is very dry, carbonation is very soft (forming the head typical of nitrogen effervescence), finish feel is medium coffee&roasty on palate. Very worth trying. Quite similar to Irish Dry Stouts.

Dark almost opaque black color, good tan head. Roasted, coffeish nose. Rich coffeish, toasted malty flavor. Toasted aftertaste. Medium-bodied. Balanced and tasty, propably one of the best bottled Czech beers.

50 cL bottle. Pours dark brown with a lacing tan head. Aroma is hard roasted malt and light hoppy too. Flavour is solid roasted malt with a light liqourice note. Holds a minor metallic note too. Ends with solid acidity from the hardroasted malt mixed with a nice dry bitterness.

Bottle on the bus @ RBESG.
Pours deep brown with a big, fine, creamy cappucino head. Wonderful aroma, good coffee, dark chocolate and medium roasted malts. Low carbonation, just a tad thin. Flavour is soft, hard roasted malts. Some pleasant coffee notes in the finish. A nice surprise.

Sips from gnoffs bottle (50 cl) at café 3 små rum, Göteborg, Sweden. Black with creamy beige head. Roasted coffee aromas nicely mixed with fudge/butterscotch notes, and some dusty, herbal hops. Light to medium bodied, soft carbonation. Very well balanced. Very nice stout.
