On draught:Deep golden,a bit unclear, firm and lacy off-whie head, fruity-yeasty aromas with a tinge of vegetables and cardboard, the bitterness seems to be be well covered by these dominant aromas, light to moderate bitter-sweet flavour, light bodied, slightly increasing bitterness towards the short, dry finish. Not a must..........

Cloudy orange with a firm and bubbly off-white head, leaving lace. Aroma is crisp and malty with a hint of herbal hops. Clean malty biscuit flavour with a little hop flavour and good bitterness in the finish. Full body and pleasant carbonation.

Draught at Na Verandach, Praha.
Dark golden coloured, small white head, malty nose. Malty, light yeasty and pleasant hoppy, but a away too weak. Also some caramel notes. Bitter finish and watery palate. Pity.

(Draught at Na Verandach, Prague, 21 July 2008) Dark amber colour with frothy, beige head. Malty nose with caramel, hints of yeast, orange peel and toffee. Malty taste with notes of caramel and a slightly spicy bitterness in the finish. Fairly smooth. Decent brew.

on tap at the brewery restaurant Na verandach (which is a good place to eat and try all the Staropramen beers, by the way). Dark yellow, nearly amber, hazy, large head. Malty with interesting hop notes, which prduces a dry finish.

Pours gold with a decent head of foam. This beer’s flavor malty with a noticible hop flavor. I enjoyed it a lot.

Draught at "Staropramen Naverandach" in May 2006.
Shady brown color, big creamy beige head. Could it be that they’ve made this yeast/unfiltered version out of the Staropramen Granat??
Fresh a bit malty and yeasty scent. Very much hops in the taste. Good bitterness.

Rating from May 2005:
Always nice to be able to buy commercial beer unfiltered. Tried this on tap at the restaurant close to the Staropramen brewery in Prague. Very nice, more scent and taste to it than the exported version on bottle. Ar: 8 Ap: 4 Fl: 8 Pa: 4 Ov: 15

On tap at the brewery, Prague. ("Kvasničák" means unfiltered.) Certainly fresher tasting than the plain 12-degree, but not worth the trip to the factory just for that. A little cookie and yeast flavor and some white bread on top of the typical pils.
