Drunk in front of Vinarna Hrozen at the RBESG tasting from a glass (!), after someone decided to inflict it to the general populace. So thank you anonymous benefactor. Poured a gold-yellow body with a small white head. Oily nose. Tasted like oil and rotten meat but the sheer wateriness made it not as offensive as it might have otherwise been. Still, it’s damn ugly. And now I regret not having the Ambrosius Special which is apparently worse.

Getting ready for the bus trip from Karlovy Vary to Plzen this past week I decided to get some food for the ride and also a beer to quench my thirst. I went into the Trznice and low and behold there were a number of beers that I had never before seen or heard of. I thought "this must be my lucky day!" So I picked this bottle off the shelf, picked up some road food and headed out to wait at the station. Outside the Trznice was a nice little hip wall in the shade, so the three of us sat and ate and I cracked open this bottle and the following is what occured in short order. Pffft went the cap and a whispy light skunkiness of wet straw and stinky socks erupted from the bottle. This was the heaviest part of this beer because the rest was even worse than anything I have ever consumed. Water with a tinge of ten year stale hops and insect infested grain. I actually purchased it because the label was fairly intricate and well presented. I guess more energy was put into the marketing than the actual brewing process. After two swigs my cousin Tim and I came to the same conclusion. We then noticed the small group of gypsy like creatures sitting about fifteen feet away from us on the same wall. They seemed to all be drinking it as well. "Hmmmmm" said I. We decided to move on to the bus station and in the name of science I performed an experiment with my traveling companions. We decided to leave the beer on the wall and see how long it took the gypsies to grab it up as we walked away. My wife won with her pick of before we got out of the parking lot of the Trznice. So in the end, if there were a rating category for scientific entertainment this beer would have scored quite high, but as it stands it was the worst beer I have ever tasted. It wasn’t my lucky day with this particular beer but it did work out for the gypos.

Thin, very thin. A quickly-dissipating head and very little carbonation. Flavor is not very strong though certainly not bad. Quite refreshing and also quite cheap.

1,5l PET bottle, very cheap. Golden colour. Quite thin and watery, malty, nearly not hops at all.

Canned. Pale yellow, small head. Sweetish and very light bodied - bordering to becoming thin. Some grainy malt and a very careful amount of saaz hops. Medium bitterness. Well light, but works as a thirst quencher.

This is the cheapest beer that I have ever seen. 16 cents a half liter. Tastes what it costs. Low on alcohol and good flavour. Thin useless beer that should only be drank for novelty purposes. Still not as offensive as American equivilents.
