Quite mild, sweetish-malty, aromatic-hoppy aroma with toffee hints. Semi-dry, caramely-malty and quite pleasantly hoppy flavor with a nice late bitterness. Very smoothly carbonated, light to medium-bodied, quite refreshing palate. ChristianSA (368), Copenhagen, Denmark

Almost no carbonation - it is apparently intentional? Taste is.... not there. A very strange, and unczech, beer. shrubber85 (2995), Wallhalben, Germany
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Oct 29, 2004 Can with a widget. Sweet malt aroma with hint of hops. Tons of tan head (due to the widget) - dark tan color. Nice malt flavor with bitter finish and very little carbonation - very similar to English canned ales like Tetleys or John Smiths. skortila (2913), Bunnik, Netherlands

Very, clear, yellow-brown coloured with no ubles except those present in the lasting creamy, off-white head. Very nice appearance. Impressive. Very clean taste with fruit hops and herbs. Watery body. Dry. Nice brew. arhythmt (69), USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Sep 28, 2004 As the name suggests, Velvet is a very smooth ale that resembles a pils in some ways, but with a bit less bite to it. Great the first few times, less good as you have it more often. Jukkabro (3039), Tampere, Finland
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Sep 23, 2004 Dark red color with very lasting and nice foam. Somehow yeasty aroma, dominated by fruitiness. Very creamy mouthfeel. Grassy flavor with hopped and lasting dry ending. No carbonation, wouldn’t be needed either. With some more body this would have been excellent. While drinking this in restaurant I don’t even know what country this beer comes from, label in tap says Velvet 14... rickgordon (3328), Göteborg, Sweden

Charneol colour, smooth, creamy head. Looks like a kilkenny - no wonder. Somewhat fruity, little bready with some sweetness. Indeed a Kilkenny clone. Seemed quite good beside those desitkas. ThomasE (5178), Copenhagen, Denmark
