lightning9191 (55), Christiansburg, Virginia, USA Aug 9, 2008 Tried this at Microfestivus. It was ok. It had some nice maltiness to it, but nothing to write home about. I’d drink it again, but not too often. There is better out there. lemasney (253), Trenton, New Jersey, USA Aug 8, 2008 RateBeer Rating, Style and Glass: 55. Brown Ale, Dimpled Mug

Taste: carbonation, watery, very little craft. 1 out of 10.
Palate: water, quick finish. 1 out of 5.

MaltDawg (287), Richmond, Virginia, USA Jul 30, 2008 Off taps at Capital Ale House. Slight grain and a bit of fruit in the aroma with hint of earthy hops. Clear amber copper with small off-white head. Grainy pale malts dominate flavor with slight fruityness and touch of spicey hops.
Light body with moderate carbonation. Medium sweet finish with some residual hop bitterness.
LooseCannon (635), Norfolk, Virginia, USA Jul 30, 2008 12oz bottle. Pours dark copper in color with brown head. Aroma nutty and not much else. Taste malty, nutty and bitter with bitter and dry finish. llcooldave (155), San Antonio, Texas, USA Jul 26, 2008 Beautiful dark leather brown in color with a decent looking head. Musty malt aroma with a roasted bitterness in flavor. It gets better as it warms in the glass. This is a really gem of a beer!
