Jan 20, 2004 Aged two years. Expectedly dark and viscous-lookin’. Smells a bit like burnt chocolate and coffee, mildly smoky. Very roasty, some burnt wood.

Jan 19, 2004 RDF Strong Ale Fest: Aged 2 years to bring out it's finer flavors. A light whiskey aroma added to the malty alchohol smell. The taste was very heavy with malt and alcohol with a mild bitter and burnt flavor. Another of my favorites from the night.

Jan 16, 2004 Pitch black body topped by a creamy brown head. Aroma is smoky, alcohol and chocoalte. The flavor islots of roasted malt. Some smoky flavors develop. All bitterness is from the malts. Medium-thick body. Not too bad.

Jan 15, 2004 (2001) Big black body with a minimal brown head. Aroma is sweet, bittersweet chocolate, coffee, vinous, light smoke. Taste is chocolate, vinous, finishing light burnt, vinous, and slightly roasty. Medium body that is too light, but hides the alcohol fairly well.
