HopDevil (117), Charlottesville, Virginia, USA Aug 15, 2007 A tasty IPA, easily Starr Hill’s best offering. Had it fresh at the brewery complete with magic tricks from the taste master. Pretty classy. Tastes of mild hops and crisp refreshment. Stinks....in a good way. can8ianben (608), Pasadena, California, USA Jul 21, 2007 Draft at Corzet open house. Delicously hoppy, very bitter but with a subtle sweetness to it as well. Sweet syrup in the nose, not much head, an orange colour and not much malt present. SynergyXJ (400), Blacksburg, Virginia, USA Jan 14, 2007 Draught Clear amber pour with thick head. Intense piney hop aroma and almost no malt. Pretty much a typical IPA with a citrus/piney hop flavor. Smooth, great session brew. outerupt (133), Richmond, Virginia, USA May 8, 2006 Cask. A lovely IPA true to its name. Pours a lively and somewhat coarse head with a hazy and golden amber body. Reeks of hops. Nicely balanced with malt though. As my drinking buddy noted: "beer as it must have been in the 1700s." Not overabundant but not shy. British in texture but not in the bite... American in IBUs but not in strength. Simply a great session brew. Foxbush (352), Richmond, Virginia, USA Apr 21, 2006 Updated: Aug 27, 2006This was an amazing experience. Another ale at the Capital Ale House in Richmond, VA. The head was a frothy white and the aroma was a wonderful citrus or grapefruit aroma. The beverage was amber and clear. The hops bitterness and balance of malt and alcohol were perfect. This was super from the first sip to the last. I could have had only the ale all night.
