Bov (4659), Bienne, Switzerland Aug 20, 2005 brought back from Russia by Rutzicka’s parents - clear pale golden colour, very slightly hazy, fine stable head, fine fruity hoppiness in the nose (apricot comes to mind), also some notes of corn; a correct malt body and a respectable tart bitterness; an herbal touch and more fruity notes in a pleasant finish rickgordon (3073), Göteborg, Sweden Aug 3, 2003 Golden good old standard lager that really refreshes both palate and mind a hot day at Kievski Vokzal. JorisPPattyn (4499), Antwerpen, Belgium Oct 19, 2006 Just yellow-tinted dense head, leaving some lace over straw-golden beer. Initially creamy, then dry malty nose, rather volatile aromas. Very dry-grainy taste, honeyish and a whiff of raspberry with a bitterish finish. It’s a bit dull, a bit simple, but it has a very decent balance. This is better than expected from such a source. Unfortunately, after some warming up, the grain proves oxydized, and probably from last years’ USA imports. Light, bit spritzy. As said, better than expected. Papsoe (10285), Frederiksberg, Denmark Dec 18, 2005 (Bottle 50 cl) Pilsener golden with a creamy, white head. Malty nose. Rather dry body dominated by bittering hops. Actually reminds me of a solid German pilsener. 171205 Tranquillity (1074), Espoo, Finland Jan 5, 2007 Grainy hay, earthy aroma. Smells unready. Reddish yellow, thick white head. Taste fresh, quite nice aftertaste as well.
