Cask sample at Volo Cask Days 2008. Orange-amber with a small off-white head. Fantastic fresh hop aroma, with caramel malt backing. Creamy body. Great flavour - sweet and hoppy, with nice orange/citrus notes in the long finish. Quite nice.

[1789-20081017] Cask. Lemon-scented grain water aroma with lots of fresh pulp orange fresh hops. Slightly hazy, amber brown body with a quick creamy off-white head. Hoppy orange juice flavour with nice light chocolate hints and a long bready finish. Medium body is a little bitter. Long hoppiness is good.

On cask at Volo Cask Days 2008. Gold pour, decent sized white head. Aroma of tea like hops and malt. Taste is all tea like hops up front fading quickly back to the malt base of this beer. A decent effort on an just ok base beer.

Cask. At Volo Cask Days 2008. Hazy reddish-gold with a solid frothy and lasting off-white head. Aromas of lemon, pine, coriander and slightly juicy sweet malt. Taste - the same, only softer, the element blend and blur nicely -- has a soft mouthfeel, average body, with building astringency; the malt body fades quickly, but the fresh hop bitterness lingers nicely. Very good indeed - MAKE MORE OF THIS.

Cask at ’Volo Cask Days 2008’. Pours a hazy orange-amber with an average size diminishing off-white head. Nice piney hop aroma, quite spicy and fruity as well along with caramel malt and a little sweetness. Flavour’s hoppy and fruity along with lots of spices and an average bitter finish. Average bodied. Pretty good stuff, I wouldn’t mind this becoming a regular staple from this brewery.
