Commercial Description:
Saint Andre is made with a blend of five specialty malts imported from Belgium. These help to create a smooth, complex character which is balanced by a crisp hop flavour. The result is a remarkably drinkable beer that celebrates the best Europe has to offer. Lager in The Bohemian style. Note: Brewed by Doug Pengelly of Ste. Andre at the Stratford Brewing facility.

355mL bottle. Pours a clear amber with minimal head. Light aroma, slightly toasty. Flavour is tasty - bit of maltiness but with a lingering sweetness as well - kind of a roasted nuttiness. Palate is a bit strong on the carbonation. Overall pretty nice.

Bottle. Some crispiness, mild biscuity malt backing and light hops. Certainly not a very interesting beer, but very drinkable.

Pours a amber orange with a thin shortly lived heads. The aroma is good, malty, some notes of bubble gum, burnt sugar, and maybe some orange peel? The flavour is decent, a light touch of hop upfront, the some straight forward malty, toffee sweetness, and then finishes with another touch of hops. A pretty straight forward, light, easy drinking beer. Nothing special, but tasty, goes good with spicy Chinese.

Draught @ Cest What. Clear, copper with very thick beige head. Diacetyl, some caramel malt aromas. Sour flavors and a tiny bit of bread character. Quite sweet overall. Soft mouthfeel. Not entirely pleasant...

Bottle. Amber with large white foamy head that thins quickly. Faint roasted nut hop aroma. Taste is dry, bubbly, clear and crisp with a hint of nuts.

On tap at the Beer Bistro in Toronto. Rich amber color, with lots of red, lovely. Rich, nutty aroma with fruit and lots of caramel. Flavor very nutty and grainy, with milk, cherries, caramel, and toffee. Dryish finish but the malt keeps working. Nice.

The aroma is malty, with a touch of hops. Copper, medium vanilla head. Fine malty presence, some nuttiness. Creamy with good bitterness, nicely balanced. A delicious Vienna Lager.

Tap at Beer Bistro. Rich copper-coloured beer with a thick creamy off-white head. Softly toasted malt aroma over a very clean base. A whiff of toast and soft floral hops as well. Flavour is very well-balanced. Soft maltiness with a crisp, clean finish. Lingering breadiness. It’s a very well-made, quaffable take on this style.
