| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Nov 24, 2009 Basically this beer rocks. Looks the business in the glass, great creamy beige head, hazy copper glow to the body, I would have given it a 5 for looks, but the head started to dissipate quite quickly. Aroma is classic, quite mellow, lots of caramel and honey with the hops definitely there, but shrouded in a sweet malty richness, some orangey, tropicaly fruit there as well. The flavour is spot on for the style, lush malt backbone with well controlled hops, rich body with the alcohol giving an almost sweet liqueur effect, hops remain with a blood orange feel, tangerine and mild spiciness. Finish is nicely dry but not too much. I can’t seem to break this beer down, it’s not massively complex but it is very well balanced and that makes it a pleasure to drink, and therefore not overly nesacery to break down. The bottom line is, it’ everything I’ve come to expect from American Micro-Brewed DIPA’s but it’s at the top of it’s game in this style with the right amount of sweetness and bitterness, leaving you thinking: "Is this sweet or bitter?" but yet leaving you unable to decide, which to me means it is in perfect harmony. My first bottled Steamworks Beer, and I’m very pleased to have made it’s acquaintance! fonefan (11588), VestJylland, Denmark

| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 10/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Nov 14, 2009 On draught at the Alchemy: Poured a semi hazey copper colour, decent sized white head. Nose is very pungent, floral sticky green notes. Caramel and other floral sweetness is noticeable. Taste is firm and hoppy, semi dry and bitter but balanced. Smooth caramel sweetness on the palate with fresh fruits lingering near the finish. Overall, a really dank beer. DJMonarch (6845), Northwich, Cheshire, England

| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Nov 11, 2009 Pint bottle, Beer Ritz, Leeds. Oh my what a resolutely uncool label. Never judge a book by etc though, and this is definitely a winner in all the other departments. Poured a hazy shade of orange with a beige head that was on the small side. Big plump, resinous hop aroma and flavour with healthy amounts of caramel malt and juicy fruit in there for good measure. Pretty straightforward stuff, but hot damn it works. Abv is nicely masked. A pleasure to drink. cgarvieuk (4183), Edinburgh, Scotland
