AndrewKScott (340), Lemont, Illinois, USA Jul 14, 2008 Pours a kind of orangish-pinkish color (seriously). Medium nose of a lovely blend of hops, taste is a great blend of citrus, pine, caramel, dough. Medium mouthfeel, but no detectable alcohol. The real star here is the flavor of the hops, not necessarily hop bitterness, just a lot of great hop flavor. This beer is delicious, and dangerously drinkable for a double IPA.
thejoeshow (111), Saint Paul, Minnesota, USA Sep 2, 2008 22oz bottle. Pours a crystal clear rich golden color with a big yellow tinged head that has great retention and excellent lacing. First off...the glass is on the other side of my desk and I can smell it from here. Nose is a very nice bouquet of citrus aromas that have a slight pine back to them. Very pungent but at the same time very smooth. The flavor is very nice. It has a good caramel maltiness to it that is not too over shadowed by the huge hop presence. The citrus hops really show through in this beer. This is one of the smoothest IIPA’s I have ever had. That’s a huge problem seeing as it ranks in at 9% ABV. No wonder it’s also know as "Con-fucked-or". These things go down way too easy. swoopjones (1115), Buffalo, New York, USA Aug 22, 2008 bottle. Trade with tytoanderso. Pours a robust deep dark orange . Nice floral citrusy hop aroma. Taste is weel balanced with the malts but the hops make theier presence felt. Nice drinking not too harsh & well done uhclem (122), Loveland, Colorado, USA Aug 16, 2008 I can’t believe it’s taken me so long to try this IIPA - it’s been staring at me from the cooler for ages. From the first pour to the last swallow, this is an exceptional brew.Very well balanced flavor, an opulent mouthfeel and an excellent finish swanmann (244), Norman, Oklahoma, USA Aug 12, 2008 The bottle poured solid, tawny brass color with an inch of beige-golden head floating on top. Intense bright citrus rind character dominates the aroma. The flavor is very well balanced, considering. For a IIPA, the sugars, acid, and bitterness are all very much present and at play. Deliciously drinkable. Crosling (1645), Loveland, Colorado, USA Aug 11, 2008 Dark colored Double IPA, a reddish brown with a full developed, well lasting foam. Fairly nice hops nose; oily, pine-like with spruce notes and tropical fruits, peaches and herb. Also a bit of malt as well. Flavor is well balanced, clean, nicely flavored and also has a nice finish. Fairly intense bitterness, but also hop flavors of citrus. Overall, it’s pretty nice.
