Head is initially small, frothy, off-white, mostly diminishing.
Body is medium amber.
Aroma is moderately matly (toasted bread, grain), lightly hoppy (apricot).
Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly bitter.
Finish is lightly sweet, moderately bitter, husky.
Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation.
I’m surprised there aren’t visible barley hulls floating in this, the aftertaste is so brutally grainy/husky tasting (and it goes on and on and on...). This is a problem that seems to plague all of the beers I’ve had from Steamworks, unfortunately. Aroma is also rawly grainy under the toasty malt, and dreadfully boring. The "very clean tasting" comment in the commercial description is highly ironic. jcwattsrugger (3862), Florida and, New Jersey, USA Oct 31, 2006 on tap-pours a rocky tan head and dark red color. Aroma is sweet medium malt. Taste is sweet medium malt balanced nicely with hops. Smoky. Good carbonation. bu11zeye (3656), Frisco, Texas, USA Dec 26, 2007 (22oz. bottle) Pours a deep amber body with a thick frothy beige head. Aroma of toastiness, nuts, caramel, and light dried apricots. Flavor of toasted bread, buttered biscuits, caramel, mild hops, and nuts.
