| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Apr 13, 2008 The box on this says it’s "arguably" the best American-style amber lager in the county. Arguably is the key word, I could argue with them :). It’s a good beer. Pretty sweet, red-dark beer with very little head. I’d be lying if I said I didn’t enjoy it. Better than average, good session beer. Best in the country? Nah. Best I had today? Sure. Swalden28 (1512), McKinney, Texas, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Apr 12, 2008 Bottle. Pours a deep clear amber with nice off white head with very good retention. Aroma of floral hops. Flavor reminds me of a hopped pale ale, sweet hints of caramel with citris notes. Has a very slight bitter. Medium-high carbonation....seems that it might have been naturally carbonated. Medium mouth feel....Good beer... mar (1903), Dallas, Texas, USA
