Looking good is about the best it gets, there is a cardboardy carbonation flavour with a dull caramel note. It is fairly sweet and fruity with a grainy malt. Not particularly very good. arkurzynski (100), West Bend, Wisconsin, USA

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Aug 30, 2009 12oz bottle, best if consumed before Aug. ’09. Clear orange with a small beige head, fading to a thick ring quickly. Sweet caramel and dry toast are the aroma. There is a light lager fruitiness as well, after nosing it a while. Flavor follows suit with plenty of caramel and toast--faint earth, too. Minimal bitterness in the finish. A tinge of floral hops showed up a ways through the swallow. Smooth medium body with light carbonation. Nothing exceptionally exciting, but better than I’d hoped. DandyWolfFloyd (331), Jim Thorpe, Pennsylvania, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 5/5 | 12/20 | Aug 25, 2009 The beer has a copper body, that is very clean. The head initially is fluffy, but fades into a thin white collar. The aroma has a mild malt accent, some wet cardboard, and a little soap (most likely the yeast strain). The flavors are very gentle, with a little honeyed malt soem mild hops, and some subtle spice. The drink is very tasty, with a nice creamy velvet softness. It’s an exceptional session. Nice. leaparsons (4748), Leicester, Leicestershire, England
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Aug 21, 2009 Can. Copper with a small head. Aromas are nutty with weetabix malts. Some chocolate with hints of raspberry and strawberry. Flavours are clean toasty malts followed by plenty of nutty notes. Some weetabix and chocolate, maltier than I expected. Has a dry nutty finish with some peppery hops. Decent. bigrond (1055), factoryville, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Aug 15, 2009 I’m surprised by the low ratings for this beer. It’s good. It’s a good representation of it’s style. Dark, slightly sweet, good mouthfeel. Reminds me of Yuengling, but a little better.
So far this Steamworks variety pack is paying off.
