Medium bodied, good carbonation on the palate, reasonably clean right from the start, fairly crisp in the finish. The nose is light overall with a sweet orange citrus aroma. Clear golden color, topped by a small, off-white head that fades to a rim fairly quickly. No lacing, just like all the beers, but I’ll blame it on the glasses. Left a nice lace on the glass. Lemon is the dominant aroma. Flavor is well, balanced, but that’s not how I like it. Not great, but not bad. Sham (1846), Seattle, Washington, USA

Bitter, floral, piney with lemon and orange citrus notes. Bitter again in the flavor with citrus, melons perhaps. Malts back it up well. Creamy mouth feel with a bitter hop filled finish

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 16/20 | Feb 7, 2005 Burlingame. Fruity aroma. Hops really not detectable in the nose. Creamy, off-white head. A little faint visible carbonation. Good lace. Nice peppery body. Discernably hoppier than the Pale ale. Very similar to the White Dog PA, but just hoppier. I also had the cask version but my taste buds were too burnt out to rate it. It was smoother, creamier and good, though I preferred the standard. MullMan (1081), Bloomfield, New Jersey, USA
