bitbucket (2024), Kirkland, Washington, USA Oct 27, 2009 On tap at the brewpub in Eugene. Pours opaque blackish brown with a creamy, lacy tan head. Mostly coffee in the nose. Light body and minimal carbonation. Coffee with a nudge of chocolate on the taste. Dry pine and coffee finish. Roast aroma. Small beige head. Black and smooth on the palate with and oaty dry roast finish. timfoolery (482), California, USA Jun 28, 2009 Third taste of the sampler. Nice, flavorful dry stout. Palate ok. Well, on to the fourth. rmussman (905), California, USA May 29, 2009 Sampled in Eugene Oregon. Not bad. Goes down pretty smooth. Has a nice head and best served a little warm. KAggie97 (2406), Ugly, Hot, and Humid Spring, Texas, USA Oct 24, 2008 Tap at Oregon brewpub. Pours blacker than the gunk on a hippie’s teeth with an aroma of sweet, smoky chocolate coffee. Flavor is light, bitter coffee witha smoky chocolate finish. Par-for-the-course mouthfeel. A little too light in the taste department; needs more depth. hotstuff (3175), Indiana, USA Jan 20, 2008 Draft at Steelhead BC, Eugene, OR. small tan head that was mostly lasting, next to no lacing, opaque, no carbonation observed, and an almost black hue. Nose was roasty, coffee and a hint of chocolate. Flavor was roasty, coffee and dry. Smooth, dry mouthfeel. Medium body. Too one dimensional and needs more flavor. Lacks character. Just so-so for the style. beerinmarch (2781), Alabama, USA Sep 2, 2007 Eugene Steelhead. Very nice roasty stout, coffee finish. Thin and creamy, like a true irish dry stout. Crisp and balanced, not a heavy stout by any means, but instead worked with a soft roasty cocoa and coffee flavor. fordest (1954), Santee/San Diego, California, USA Aug 26, 2007 Draft at Eugene Brewery. Dark black pour with tight tan head. Think this was nitro. Aromas were roasty coffee and alcohol. Coffee gave way to chocolate on the first sip then back to bitter coffee on the finish. Not bad at all.
