Steelhead Hopasaurus Rex

On tap at the brewpub in Eugene. Pours clear and coppery with a lacy off-white head. Big grapefruit, mango and pine aroma. Full body and minimal carbonation. Grapefruit, mango and toffee taste.

At the brewery now. Nice on tap grapefruity tasting imp IPA with an ok palate.

Tap at KLCC microbrew festival. Orange-red pour with small tan head. Both aroma and flavor were just explosions of pine and citrus hops. I love a hop monster as much as anyone, but this was just far too out of balance for me. Maybe I got a bad batch?

Draft at Steelhead BC, Eugene, OR. Small off-white head that was mostly lasting, decent amount of lacing, transparent, and no visible carbonation. The nose was hoppy, grapefruit, citrus, and piine. Ditto for the flavor with a dry finish. Smooth, dry mouthfeel. Quaffable brew and worthy of a try and this is coming from a rater who isn’t a hophead!

Draft at Eugene Brewery. Hazy orange pour with small head. Sugary citrus aromas. Flavors of pine and citrus. Finish was quite a bit of alcohol. Pretty good.

This draft brew from the brewery poured a head of foamy finely sized white colored bubbles that were mostly lasting and left behind a slightly hazy typically carbonated dark orange colored body and a good lacing. The mild aroma was floral and malty. . The flavor contained notes of hops. A decent one but not one that I would consider buying again.

Sampled at the brewhouse in Burlingame. Pours a nice amber shade with a sweet hoppy aroma. Mouthfeel was very nice, with some hoppy aftertaste. Flavor was relatively strong and the alcohol was consistent with many other double IPAs.

from a keg and a dangerous one at that, dark red color with a tan head, pungent hop nose, thick and bitter, quite a hop wallop ale but not ballanced well enough to execute a really good ale
