acrdz (4373), Boulder, Colorado, USA Dec 23, 2005 Draft at the brewery. Mostly clear red and orange hude. More rounded flavor than their other hoppy brews. Seems like an imperial-red style (ASA), with notes of cherry wood, nuts, sugars, and very pine-like... jasper or something in there. Very well rounded although highly hopped - reminds me of Hog Heaven. thedm (3406), Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA Aug 4, 2007 This draft brew from the brewery poured a head of foamy finely sized white colored bubbles that were mostly lasting and left behind a slightly hazy typically carbonated dark orange colored body and a good lacing. The mild aroma was floral and malty. . The flavor contained notes of hops. A decent one but not one that I would consider buying again. hotstuff (3045), Indiana, USA Jan 20, 2008 Draft at Steelhead BC, Eugene, OR. Small off-white head that was mostly lasting, decent amount of lacing, transparent, and no visible carbonation. The nose was hoppy, grapefruit, citrus, and piine. Ditto for the flavor with a dry finish. Smooth, dry mouthfeel. Quaffable brew and worthy of a try and this is coming from a rater who isn’t a hophead! harlequinn (2746), Tacoma, Washington, USA Jan 6, 2006 This was a very delicious IPA, rich and smooth with ample amounts of flavor and malt character. The hopping is so aggressive, but it never gets out of hand, it still stays balanced, right into the finish. DA (2472), Portland, Oregon City, Oregon, USA Apr 2, 2005 On tap at the Horsebrass. Pours a very murky orange with a thin white head. I was expecting a lot more hops out of this for the name and the fact that it’s a double IPA. Starts with a kinda malt/sweet hop flavor, not so much caramel sweetness in the malts as many double IPAs, but finishes with a medium citrus hop finish. The bitterness in the finish was a bit more subtle than i was expecting. It tastes like this had been aged a bit and the hops had died down a bit.
