Draught @ De Zalm, Roeselare, Belgium.
Clear medium orange color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white to white head. Aroma is moderate to light heavy malty, spicy, over ripped fruit, moderate yeasty, coriander notes, light notes of rubber (no burnt rubber). Flavor is moderate sweet and bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is watery to oily, carbonation is soft. [20090308]

Bottled. hazy golden colour with mediumsized white head. Aroma is hops, alcohol, some sweet malts and berries. Flavour is a bit spices, fruity and also some mild caramel. Pleasantly balanced.

Cask handpull at New Crown, JDW, London. Decent Belgian blond, some spice, some good rose petal, plenty of estery fruit. Decent.

Bottled (BB 12/2010). Thanks bierkoning! Golden color (when yeast added, hazy), small white head. Spicey, fruity typical Belgisch blonde aroma. Fruity, but soapy flavor. Crisp, moderate spiceyness in the finish. Typical, uninspiring Palm blonde.

Bottle. Pours an enormous head. Citric, slightly herbal aroma. Just a bit sweetish, grassy, slightly herbal, citric and perfumed flavor. Hints of coreander. Decent.

A Mes rate: bottle thanks to the awesome beermerchants.com lottery! Typical, but tolerable spicy and yeasty Belgian blonde aroma. Heavily filtered blonde appearance with a head that angrily fizzed away to nothing pretty quickly. Slightly metallic and fatty flavour. A little too sweet and spicy. Faint ginger notes. Nothing offensive but it’s just so unimaginative. Used to wash down my dinner. Functional, that’s it.

Bottle… Mostly clear, light yellow ale with a mid-sized, fluffy, white head. Great retention. Bready, fruity, spicy aroma – banana, clove, apricot and pear. Medium-bodied with a lightly astringent mouthfeel and fizzy carbonation. Toffee, plum and fuzzy fruit up front; nice bitterness and astringency on the backside. Finishes crisp, and then mildly fruity and dry.

Fluffy white head over well-carbonated golden beer. Very malty, near grainy nose, bit grassy. Near Pilsner-like; white candi sugar probable. Dry-spicy taste, again quite grainy. Not very remarkable, but sturdy, honest taste - bit Kölsch-like, if more spicy. Light to medium bodied, quite spritzy. Unassuming, but better than expected. Would make a great session beer, were it bottle-conditioned - it deserves better. Pity about the boring nose.
