weaselkenievil (390), Cheshire, England Oct 5, 2008 Praise be to Phil_L and the beermerchants.com lottery. Thanks very much, great work! Golden with big bubbled white head that faded fairly quickly. A fairly standard but very drinkable Belgian blond. Right up my street! A typical rate from me, F all detail as I’nm very drunk now. Cheers Phil and beermerchants.com, you’ve got me drunk, in trouble with the missus but happy! Mes_and_Sim (4487), Highgate, Greater London, England Sep 22, 2008 A Mes rate: bottle thanks to the awesome beermerchants.com lottery! Typical, but tolerable spicy and yeasty Belgian blonde aroma. Heavily filtered blonde appearance with a head that angrily fizzed away to nothing pretty quickly. Slightly metallic and fatty flavour. A little too sweet and spicy. Faint ginger notes. Nothing offensive but it’s just so unimaginative. Used to wash down my dinner. Functional, that’s it. Ober (403), Best, Netherlands Sep 10, 2008 A clear yellow, colored beer, with a thick white head. The aroma of malt, a bit fruity, like citrus and yeast. The taste is smooth, malty, fruity, orange/citrus with some spices in the back. The aftertaste is a little bitter and fruity. BoBoChamp (733), Gent, Belgium Sep 5, 2008 33cl, new brew with ’gruut’ Anno 2008, from Geers Oostakker, complex brew, not balanced, hazy, good head, nice brew JorisPPattyn (4500), Antwerpen, Belgium Aug 19, 2008 Fluffy white head over well-carbonated golden beer. Very malty, near grainy nose, bit grassy. Near Pilsner-like; white candi sugar probable. Dry-spicy taste, again quite grainy. Not very remarkable, but sturdy, honest taste - bit Kölsch-like, if more spicy. Light to medium bodied, quite spritzy. Unassuming, but better than expected. Would make a great session beer, were it bottle-conditioned - it deserves better. Pity about the boring nose.
