| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Dec 12, 2004 Dark clear amber colour with a nice creamy off white head. Aroma is promising; malty, dark fruits, caramel and chocolate. Lots of fruit and spices in the taste along with well balanced sweet malts and hops. Quite lively on the tongue, smooth with a tasty dry finish. Very good. PhillyBeer2112 (2089), Orange Park, Florida, USA

effect that allowed the malt depth
to shine through. Interesting chocolatey
malty notes, coupled with mild spicy
yeast character. Rubyish brown color.
Nice head and lacing. Uglyradio (776), Greenville, South Carolina, USA

It has a malty aroma of cookie dough and molasses with some yeast, plum, and raison notes. The flavor is initially very sweet, with some banana and malt flavors. The finish is lingering and sweet, with a hint of chocolate. It has a very smooth and creamy mouthfeel. Good dubbel. daboskabouter (1470), Fergus, Ontario, Canada

Appearance: deep, dark, chestnut brown, with a firm 3’4" earth-toned head.
Aroma: ripe and rich with nuts, cocoa, soft spices, and a strong brandyish feel.
Big fruit on the palate: raisins, figs, plums, port wine. Fierce and delicious hop attack on the tongue, full-bodied, big malt, nice balance. Very commanding, with rewarding flavors throughout.
Long, lasting, warm, rummy finish.
I’ll be back for more, you can be sure!
