(RBESG05, bottle) Cloudy amber body with a beige head. Aroma is medium sweet, raisin, caramel. Taste is sweet, brown sugar, prune/raisin, caramel. Soft medium-full body. Seems more a dubbel than a tripel.

11.2oz. bottle. Clear golden color with a thick white head. Malty, spicy aroma that reminds me more of a dubbel than a tripel. Flavor of dark bread, dried fruit and spices. Again reminds me of a dubbel. Aggressive carbonation and a bit thin, but otherwise a tasty beer.

(Bottle 33 cl) My original version was from "De Gouden Boom" in Bruges. Orangey golden with a fine head. I get very vinous associations here - like a very good Chardonnay. Spicy with a late bitterness. Extremely, rich, aromatic and complex - the kind of beer that slowly unfolds in your mouth. Great stuff indeed. 151197

Very fluffy, airy ultra-white head; fizzy golden beer with greenish shine. Extremely neutral nose, just something faint fruity as whitecurrant. Little bit of diacetyl? Bready, slight-bitter initial taste; bit spicey and a bit of oxidation (6 months to BBD) it would seem. Gets more sweet eventually. Spicey finish. Texture both like mineral water and some - yes, silkyness. Medium bodied. Good attenuation, but not as some hy-strenght blondes. Very, very neutral beer. Doesn’t mean bad, but - what is there to enjoy that much?

Bottled. Pale golden body, slightly hazed. Large, crusty foaming white head. Sharp, slightly sour aroma. Silky texture. Very subtle in all its dimensions. Spicy peppery finish.

Bottled. Purchased from Bier Tempel. Hazed amber with a medium white head. Nose is citrusy with a pleasant spciciness and a mild aroma of candy sugar. Taste is fruity with sweetened malts, spices, mild floral notes and a hint of paper. Body is spritzy and carbonated but not overdone. Mild alcohol feel as well. Finishes with more spices and fruitiness along with light perfumy and flowery notes.

The color is a murky, muddy grey/brown, and not at all what I’d expect in a tripel, and the head is large, lacey, bubbly, white. Aroma is sharp, fresh, full of sugar, spice, and citrus. Hops are bold, malt is thick, texture is chewy, body is full and delicious. Quite a mouthfull! Thick flavor, in this delicious, delirious tripel, peppery, spicy, hot, alcoholic, ...and good!!! A hard brew to swallow, but a unique and rewarding experience.
