jbrus (4024), Delft, Netherlands May 13, 2008 Bottle@Home. Sweet grainy aroma. Pale yellow color, small white head, fair lace. Grainy, light bitter, hint of veggies but where’s the pumpkin? Boring. Although ... the label says "Strength for men, pleasure for women". Is it supposed to be an aphrodesiac?
Quack-Duck (1609), Bodensee, Germany May 28, 2008 bottle. Clear golden colour, mid-sized head. Malty nose. Malty flavour, slightly hoppy with a dry mouthfeel. Very very shy, but detectable hints of pumpkin. Neither bad nor spectacular. grikmok (59), Baton Rouge, Louisiana, USA Mar 2, 2008 Bottled, bought from Graz, Austria. Poured to a golden yellow beer with a lot of carbonation. Aromas of yeast and alcohol. Initial taste of yeast and finished with a slight bitterness. No pumpkin taste at all, which was disappointing. Not very memorable. Tasted like mass-produced American Lager. Tranquillity (1027), Espoo, Finland Feb 19, 2008 Bottled. Very pale colour, small white head. Smells bread-yeast. Taste...not much at all. Easily forgettable and boring. FatPhil (1960), Espoo, Finland Feb 15, 2008 330ml bottle shared by Tranquillity - thanks!
Very pongy when poured. Definitely based on a beer, but with some bizarre additional aromas. Taste is a bit thin but quite refreshing at first - grainy and with a final hoppy bitterness, though not very sophisticated. Gets a bit nastier as you go down the glass. The hoppiness gets stickier and acrid, for example. There is a hint of the pumpkin seeds, I’ll admit to that, but that neither saves nor spoils the lager.
