marcus (912), Sacramento, California, USA Jul 18, 2008 This black ale poured with a fluffy beige head and an herbal aroma. The flavor is smoked malt with a little bitterness. BMan1113VR (657), Los Angeles (and Dallas, TX), California, USA Apr 8, 2008 750mL Ceramic swingtop bottle. Listed as Hoogstraten Poorter. Pours with a hazy brown body. Aroma of dried fruits, honey, tangerine, and chocolate malts. Full retention and lacing on the head. Doesn’t taste anything like the porter it claims to be. For sure a belgian, if not a belgian streong. Fruity sweet taste. Bit too fizzy carbonation ontop of a watery body. Overall quite good.
