bfeldmann (1042), Wilmington, Delaware, USA Apr 15, 2009 Straight from the growler during eagles game. Aroma was of caramel, bananas yeast. Flavor was much the same, sticky and floral hops, some rootedness as it warmed. Not bad but a little to sticky for my liking.
fredandboboflo (1395), East Setauket, New York, USA Feb 21, 2009 Tap at the brewpub. Aroma of clove, citrus, hint of bubblegum, earthy hops. Flavor sweet with the citrus and bubblegum, banana comes into play for me here. Rather heavy in the mouth. Just ok. LilBeerDoctor (1480), East Setauket, New York, USA Jan 10, 2009 On tap at Stewarts. Pours a cloudy orange/brown with a thick tan head. Aroma of vegetal notes, clove and spices. Flavor of those same notes, lots of spices and vegetal notes. I didn’t really enjoy this.
6/4/6/3/13 (3.2/5) GMCC2181 (845), Bear, Delaware, USA Jan 7, 2009 On tap at Stewarts. Poured into a pint glass. Light brown in color, small head. On the nose a small hint of banana. Taste is wheat, sweet bread, yeasty and banana. Rich in texture, sugary sweet. Overall a beer that I enjoyed. eaglefan538 (2351), Wilmington, Delaware, USA Jan 7, 2009 Poured from a fresh growler into my weizen glass, courstesy goodgrief/doulos31. Aroma was roasty caramel, firm bananas, sweet bready yeasty elements. The flavor followed, a tad on the sticky side, some hoppy elements in the beginning (floral works) that faded as it warmed. Chocolate works its way into the profile with roasty elements supporting it all. A fairly boring take on the style, but decent. Mouthfeel was a little undercarbonated, slightly sticky, kept honest only by the roastiness when all was said and done. Goodgrief (1144), Middletown, Delaware, USA Jan 5, 2009 Growler from Stewarts. Murky brown color, smallish head. Aroma was full of bubblegum. The flavor was loaded with fruity/perfumy sweetness that seemed almost out of place. Light clove notes over a wheat base. I don’t know, for some reason, I wasn’t really digging it. Hazmatt (363), Virginia, USA Dec 11, 2007 Draught at pub. Seasonal. Hazy amber color. Yeasty, banana aroma. Flavor similar with wheat, some bubblegum, some matallic tastes a touch tart. Not enough depth to taste. Palate was medium. Decent. fatty (363), Perkiomenville, Pennsylvania, USA Feb 6, 2006 Cloudy dark honey orange with thin tan head. Aroma is banana, bubblegum and caramel. Flavor is clove, wheat and light caramel. Palate was a bit thin.
